Catharine (Cat) Neely is a junior at Michigan State University. She is starting her second semester as a history collections and social media intern at the MSU Museum and the MSU Archives. The focus of her internship is World War I collections. Some of the items Cat has researched include death certificates, scrap books and dance cards. As a Michigan native, originally from the Flint area, she has made connections with familiar names and places through her research. She is preparing blog and social media posts to make her research accessible to a general audience. Two of her posts, The Reality of World War I and An M.A.C. Legacy, Part I: Emory Crocker, are featured on the MSU Archives blog.

In addition to history and writing, Cat studies weaving and knitting. Her dream job is working as a museum curator.
