Production of an Amulet by Kunandi Watara
Sorobango (A Village Near Bondoukou)



Kunandi copying an inscription from a "recipe book."
Kunandi, after folding the inscribed sheet of paper, wraps it with string.

The amulet is then taken to a leatherworker, Malam Seidou, who encases it in leather.
Malam Seidou sews the inscribed paper into the leather case.

Finally, Malam Seidou, paints a linear design using black ink on the leather case.
Completed amulet.
