Chimkoko is one of the largest of the gule wamkulu structures. In large versions, there could be as many as 12 dancers within the structure. Chimkoko advises respect for the ancestors. Given its great size, its arrival at the bwalo makes a huge impression, and heralds that the ancestors have arrived en masse to the village. It is time to offer the ancestors beer and prayers.
