Meaning “we do not speak with each other”, this character is inspired by the Ngoni people, who occupied much of Chewa territory in the mid-19th century. The Ngoni were Zulu-like cattle herders, and took over land that had been held by the Chewa for centuries. There has been much conflict between the two peoples in the past, and Sitilankulana advises conciliation and harmony between the two.
