Completed circa 1910 and known as Stripes of Triangles, this
medallion-style patchwork quilt features an original design by the
quiltmaker, Anna Rolf of Flushing, Michigan. The top consists of
patterned and plain cotton triangles, pieced together into strips
that are set in square rows around a central block. Double borders
at the top and bottom and single border at each side complete the
arrangement. Quilted diagonal lines, running in alternating directions,
fasten the top to the red-and-white cotton back. Rolf sold her quilt
to its present owner, Mary Schafer.
