This perfectly pieced quilt in blues and browns was made of old
dress fabrics. There are many quilt patterns named to honor the
sun. In this quilt the break of day is suggested by skyward flying
birds above the tri-diamond shaped flowers of the vine border, which
is Mary's original design.
