The quilt donor, Charlie Meyers, remembers sleeping under quilts
when he was a young boy, living in a dirt floored log cabin. This
quilt was made by Madeline Tabasash, born 1857 in Emmet Co., near
Cross Village. Her parents were Francis and Mary Tabasash. Francis
Tabasash was a Civil War veteran who served in Company K, 1st
Michigan Sharpshooters.
