The blocks are embroidered with a variety of motifs including:
an artist's pallet; house; many floral blocks; birds; woman with
a cat on a porch; lillies; kids blowing bubbles with the year 1893
in the bubbles; mother goose sweeping off the moon; ivy; lily of
the valley; a woman's head in profile (maybe the maker); grapes;
woman doing laundry with child; girl combing her hair; cherries
on a branch; woman reading in a chair; peacock and boy playing an
instrument; two owls on branches; children playing; firefly, flowers,
and a spider web; and morning glories. In the center is a 19 1/2"
square medallion with the initials "JCD" in the center
bracketed by two curved floral vines.
