This "art Deco" design is a medallion-style quilt with an unusual, stylized rose tree in the center. Along the edges are 8 blocks of similar roses. The maker added at each end, twelve unrelated, except by color, embroidered floral and leaf blocks. These blocks feature four cross-stitched blossoms with three leaves per blossom. There are 14, 16" x 16" blocks that surround the rose tree medallion. There is one border that measures 5" on top and bottom and 2" on the sides. The straight of the grain binding is 1/4" wide. It is quilted in white thread with outlines in the applique and feathered plumes with double lines for a chain design in border.
