This is a typical dowry style quilt from Matli, Badin, Sindh. The colors are black, white, red and yellow. The appliqué shapes and borders are very typical of that region. The stitching is done in black and red. The embellishments are mirrors with sequins. The back is a hand woven piece of lungi fabric used for men’s turbans and wraps. The Badin region has a very characteristic style in rallis particularly in color. They are famous for very fine, even and close stitching.
