This Crazy Quilt was made for Dr. Orion Ulrey (1902-1992) by his grandmother. Embroidered on the quilt are the location it was made, the date, the maker’s age at the time it was made, and “Grandma Ulrey to Orion Ulrey 14.”

Orion Ulrey was Professor in Agricultural, Food, and Resource Economics at MSU. In 1937, Ulrey, along with seven other professors, initiated the MSC Employees Credit Union (now MSU Federal Credit Union) and served as its president for the first eight years.
