Essie Robinson was known for her creative approaches to quilt
design and loved making quilts. She stated, "Quilting [is]
a reason to get up in the morning. It works my brain creatively."
Dora Gardner, a Michigan quilter who makes quilts from pieces of
jeans pants, generally calls quilts from jeans "britches quilts."
