Fokosile depicts here South Africa's "The Year of the War" in 1906 in which many people were killed. The dead were pulled out of the sun to shaded shelter underneath trees and their shields left beside them. Fokosile remembers hearing stories of this war and likens this situation to AIDS where she feels that more care is given to the dead than the living.
